RENO — A man has been arrested in a case police have been investigating for six months.

Bulmaro Ricardo Torres-Alvarado was arrested Saturday and charged with three counts of open and gross lewdness on suspicion of attacking female joggers and walkers in the Virginia Lake area in October. In the different incidents, the women were approached by the male suspect and either kissed, grabbed and/or fondled, or various combinations of the three. On Saturday, one of the victims was back in the area when she spotted the suspect and called the Reno Police Department. Patrol officers located Torres-Alvarado and took him into custody.

Detectives conducted interviews and were able to link him to the cases listed above. It is believed that there might be other incidents and victims that the department is unaware of, so the investigation is continuing.

The Reno Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in recovering information about potential victims/incidents and/or information about the suspect. Anyone having information should contact the Reno Police Department at 334-2115, or Secret Witness at 322-4900, online at www.secretwitness.com or text the tip to 847411 (TIP 411), keyword “SW.”
