Design association presents Debbie Millman

RENO — In collaboration with the Reno/Tahoe chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design, the Nevada Museum of Art is pleased to present Debbie Millman, a writer, educator, artist and host of the Internet radio talk show, “Design Matters.” The president emeritus of the AIGA, Millman is the author of several books on design, and contributing editor to Print Magazine and Fast Company, in addition to serving as president of design for Sterling Brands, an international branding firm.

Millman will speak at the museum from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday about the importance of brand design and design thinking, and the ramifications of the position that brands and brand-leaders have in our culture and our lives. Her presentation and will also include insights from her latest book, “Brand Thinking and Other Noble Pursuits.”

Tickets cost $8 for museum members and AIGA members and $10 for general admission. Students and AIGA student members will be admitted to the lecture free of charge, but must present a valid student ID.
