SPARKS — The city of Sparks and AT&T Nevada announced Monday that the city’s local government access channel, Sparks Centennial Television (SCTV), is now available on AT&T U-verse TV Channel 99. Sparks is the first local government in Nevada to become part of the U-verse line-up.

SCTV has been accessible through Charter Communications since 2001 and can currently be viewed on Charter channel 215. The combined television access through Charter and now AT&T expands opportunities for more residents in Sparks to tune into their city government to learn about city services, programs, resources and events.

SCTV, which showcases local government programming such as live and re-played City Council meetings and the “Spotlight on Sparks” program, will be available to all AT&T U-verse TV subscribers in Sparks, as well as those residing throughout Washoe County. AT&T U-verse first launched in Nevada in 2007.

“Having SCTV programming carried by AT&T U-verse will greatly expand access to the valuable programming created to keep our residents informed about the community,” Sparks City Manager Shaun Carey said. “The introduction of SCTV on U-verse is a real plus for the city.”
