RENO — KNPB-TV public television, in cooperation with Gustin Sports Productions and the Nevada Interscholastic Athletic Association (NIAA) will broadcast the boys and girls state high school basketball championships on Feb. 25.

The games will be played at Lawlor Events Center at the University of Nevada, Reno. The broadcasts will begin at 11 a.m. KNPB will broadcast the boys and girls 1A, 2A and 3A games live and will record the 4A championship games played Friday night and replay them Saturday evening. Veteran play-by-play announcer Dan Gustin will call the games.

“Based on our success with the broadcast of the regional football playoff game in November, and the positive feedback we received, we are expanding our coverage to the state basketball championships,” said Kurt Mische, president and CEO of KNPB. “This is an important opportunity to connect our community by providing this broadcast to our viewers in central and northern Nevada.”

In addition to the over-the-air broadcast, the games will be streamed online at www.knpb.org and www.gustinsports.com.
