On Feb. 8 and 9, the league used funds left over from last year’s Operation School Bell to hold an extra dressing event at the Walmart on Damonte Ranch Parkway to help children affected by the fire. Students from Pleasant Valley Elementary School and Depoali Middle School attended the event.
“My son has been wearing the same hooded sweatshirt for four days now,” one parent said. “It’s so nice to have some new things for him to wear.”
Sue Martin, president of Assistance League of Reno-Sparks, said, “We are glad to be able to help these students who lost everything in the fire.”
