Student Outreach Clinics are a free service providing much needed care for the Washoe County’s medically uninsured population. Clinics offer physicals for work or school, EKGs, blood pressure monitoring, referrals and selected lab services at discounted fees. Women’s clinics offer pregnancy testing, Pap smears, gynecological exams, breast exams, STD testing and mammogram referrals. Children’s clinics offer school and sports physicals, immunizations and general care.
Under the direct supervision of licensed faculty and community physicians, medical students from the University of Nevada School of Medicine offer monthly Student Outreach Clinics which provide free care to the medically uninsured. No appointment is necessary for clinic patients who are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Early arrival is strongly recommended. Spanish translators are available as needed.
Clinics are held at School of Medicine’s Family Medicine Center, located on the University of Nevada, Reno campus just north of Mackay Stadium off of North Virginia Street. Take RTC bus route 7 to North Virginia Street or the free Sierra Spirit bus.
