RENO — A young gray wolf’s search for a mate apparently won’t take him to the northern Nevada desert where the annual Burning Man festival is staged. After wandering hundreds of miles across Oregon and northern California, the wolf is no longer headed toward Nevada’s Black Rock Desert, wildlife biologists said. The eastbound wolf came within 15 miles of the Nevada line near Susanville, Calif., last week before entering arid country and heading back west, said Mark Stopher of the California Department of Fish and Game.
