RENO — A fifth man from Sun Valley was arrested Friday by Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives in connection with the Jan. 9 burglaries in the Virginia City Highlands area.

Sheriff’s detectives have also arrested Daniel Garcia, 47, Joseph Hager, 29, and Robert Allen, 20, all residents of Sun Valley, in connection with the crime.

On Jan. 9, the Storey County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential burglary in the Virginia City Highlands, where numerous guns and ammunition were stolen, along with credit cards, knives and other property. One of the suspects used a stolen credit card from the burglary in the Reno-Sparks area. The Storey County Sheriff’s Office did a media release with surveillance photo’s from one of the transactions. Based upon the media release, the Storey County Sheriff’s Office received a Secret Witness tip identifying Garcia, who was arrested Jan. 10. The other arrests followed.

The joint investigation between Washoe and Storey county detectives has identified a fifth suspect wanted in the case. Storey County authorities have issued an arrest warrant for 36-year-old Sun Valley resident Joseph Anthony Young for burglary and conspiracy to commit Burglary.

Young is believed to be in the Reno/Sparks area. Anyone with information on Young’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact Detective John Edwards at 328-3326 or provide information anonymously by calling Secret Witness at 322-4900.
