SPARKS — Sparks police are looking for a suspect who fired several rounds at the Sparks Police Department building just before midnight Dec. 24. One bullet entered the building through the lobby area after it struck a window.
Anyone who arrived at the station on Sunday could see a large bullet hole in the lobby window and pockmarked cement stairs leading to the public entrance, one hole with a green circle around it, indicating that it had been shot at with a firearm.
At least one officer was in the secured parking lot and heard the shot as they were fired, according to reports. Several rounds struck the building. No one was injured in the incident at 1701 East Prater Way.
A possible suspect vehicle is an early 1990s Toyota pickup truck with a regular cab. Officers were able to gather evidence, and the investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Sparks detectives at 353-2225 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
