Vaughn’s birthday show to showcase donated instruments

RENO — Vaughn Middle School will celebrates its 55th anniversary at 6:30 p.m. Thursday with a concert.

The school’s music students will thank the community by playing the instruments donated to the music program during the last month at the school, located at 1200 Bresson Ave, Reno.

Approximately one-third of all students at Vaughn participate in the band and strings programs at the school and the school was short on instruments.

Vaughn received 31 instruments and approximately $5,700 in cash donations for its music program recently. Donated instruments include cellos, saxophones, trumpets, flutes, clarinets, a piccolo and guitars.
