SPARKS — Police are investigating an incident that took place early Sunday morning in which a person was reportedly shot at by people in a pursuing vehicle.

At about 1:30 a.m., Sparks police responded to a report of a person being shot at in the area of Prater Way and McCarran Boulevard. According to a police report, the victim reported being followed by a small, red passenger car with dark tinted windows. One or more of the occupants reportedly fired several rounds at the victim’s vehicle in the area of the Jack in the Box restaurant in the 600 block of east Prater Way.

Further witness information indicated that the shooting might have occured more to the west. Officers located several fired shell casings and other evidence in the area of Prater Way and Lyyski Street. The victim’s vehicle was struck by multiple rounds, but no one was injured.

The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling south on Fourth Street.
