RENO — Celebrating the spirit of the holidays, the Grand Sierra Resort’s food and beverage team have carefully crafted and decorated a 9-foot-tall, 7-foot-wide gingerbread house that is currently on display near Starbucks at the resort.

The gingerbread house contains about 1,175 pounds of gingerbread, 825 pounds of icing and hundreds of cookies and candies, all of which are completely edible. It took nearly 180 hours with 12 of Santa’s best helpers baking gingerbread, cookies and candies, whipping and piping icing to construct the house.

The house will be on display throughout the holidays. A fresh basket of gingerbread sits outside the house for guests who want a taste of this extraordinary holiday decor.
