SPARKS — A man was badly beaten early Saturday morning after a party and police are looking for witnesses.

At 2:48 a.m., Sparks police officers were dispatched to the area of the 1000 block of Russell Way on a report of a man who appeared to be the victim of a battery. Officers found the victim near the intersection of 12th Street and Oddie Boulevard. The victim’s injuries were substantial, according to law enforcement, and he was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center.

Police determined that the victim was leaving a party in the area and was jumped by several assailants. The Sparks Police Department is following up on several leads to identify all of the individuals involved in the fight.

Several witnesses said the victim was helped by a woman who left soon after emergency medical personnel arrived and prior to police arrival. The Sparks Police Department is asking this individual to come forward and provide whatever information she has about this incident.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Sparks Police Department at 353-2225 or Secret Witness at 322-4900, online at www.secretwitness.com or a text to 847411 (TIP 411), keyword “SW.” A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects.
