Of course, Black Friday is no longer confined to the day after Thanksgiving. It seems as though it begins earlier and earlier each year, and 2011 is no different in Sparks and Reno.
Have a look at the following opening times for stores at the Legends at Sparks Marina and Summit Mall in Reno, plus the many promotions and giveaways being offered on one of the biggest holiday sales days of the season. Happy shopping!
Legends at Sparks Marina
Most stores will open at 10 p.m. today and stay open until 9 p.m. Friday, making a 23-hour shopping frenzy possible for those with the stamina to get their list checked off before December arrives.
Then there’s Moonlight Magic, a raffle worth staying up for. One lucky Legends shopper will receive a year of free mortgage payments with a maximum of $15,000. Shoppers can enter the contest beginning at 10 p.m. today and concluding at 1 a.m. No purchase necessary. The winner’s name will be drawn at 3 a.m. Friday.

At the Summit in south Reno, the Old Navy store will jumpstart the Black Friday shopping experience when it opens at midnight. All other stores will open their doors promptly at 8 a.m. Friday.

The Summit has several enticing promotions and giveaways going on, beginning with a chance to win a $500 or $100 gift card to the mall. Take a break from your shopping to enter to win throughout Black Friday. No luck the first time? Your registration is automatically entered for the next drawing. You must be present to win and can only win once during the day. Three drawings will be held throughout Black Friday: 10 a.m. at L’uva Bella Wine Gallery (registration from 8 a.m. to 9:55 a.m.), 1 p.m. at J. Jill (registration from 11 a.m. to 12:55 p.m.) and 4 p.m. at Dillard’s (in the cosmetics department-registration from 2 p.m. to 3:55 p.m.).
The center will give away one $500 gift card and five $100 gift cards at each location.
