RENO — The man arrested for fatal shooting that shut down Street Vibrations activities in Sparks has been extradited to Nevada from California.

Ernesto Gonzalez is charged with killing Jeffrey “Jethro” Pettigrew on Sept. 23 during a fight at a bar inside John Ascuaga’s Nugget. Gonzalez is a member of the Vagos biker gang and Pettigrew was president of the San Jose, Calif. chapter of the rival Hells Angel gang.

Gonzalez, 53, was taken into custody a few days after the shooting after a University of California, San Francisco officer spotted him in a parked car a block from campus police headquarters.

Following Pettigrew’s murder in Sparks, two days of Street Vibrations motorcycle rally events in the city were canceled.

At Pettigrew’s funeral on Oct. 15 in San Jose, another Hells Angel member was shot and killed despite heavy police presence intended to curb any potential violence.
