LAS VEGAS — A 37-year-old ex-convict has been sentenced to more than 19 years in federal prison in a November armed robbery spree that involved three Las Vegas-area banks, three insurance companies, a travel agency and a grocery store.

U.S. District Judge James C. Mahan sentenced James Henderson Haines on Thursday to 235 months in prison. Haines pleaded guilty in July to charges of bank robbery and interference with commerce by robbery.

U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden says Haines had multiple prior convictions on felony violence, firearms and robbery charges in the Las Vegas area.
