SPARKS — A 51-year-old woman living in a van in a casino parking lot has been arrested for attacking her husband with a knife.

Just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, Sparks police officers responded to Baldini’s Sports Casino at 865 S. Rock Blvd. on a report of a man who had been stabbed. Once on scene, officers met with the victim who was being treated by Sparks firefighters and REMSA medics for multiple stab wounds. The victim told officers that he and his wife, Katherine Dever, had been living in their van in the Baldini’s parking lot and she had stabbed him during an argument inside the van. The victim also stated that Dever had thrown a can of food at him, which struck him in the face causing a small cut.

Dever was located by officers while she was driving through the Baldini’s parking lot a short time later. Officers determined that she was under the influence of alcohol when she was stopped and taken into custody. Dever was transported to the Washoe County jail and booked on battery with a deadly weapon and DUI.

The victim was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening stab wounds to his toe, elbow and leg.
