LAS VEGAS (AP) — Federal traffic officials say seat belt use is up in Nevada while alcohol-related traffic deaths are down.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tuesday that 94.1 percent of drivers used their seat belts. Federal officials say Nevada had 46 alcohol-involved traffic deaths during the fiscal 2011 year, which started in July 2010.

The administration says the number of drivers involved in fatal crashes who had measurable blood-alcohol contents above the legal limit has dropped each of the past four years.
