LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Democratic group is airing TV ads in Spanish and English to persuade southern Nevada voters that the health care overhaul signed into law by President Barack Obama is lifting up small businesses and workers.

The ads by Know Your Care will air twice during the GOP presidential debate Tuesday night and continue through the week, as Democrats try to counter a series of high-profile GOP speeches blasting President Barack Obama. The Western Republican Leadership Conference is also being held in Las Vegas this week.

This is the first Spanish-language ad released by Know Your Care. Hispanics make up more than a quarter of Nevada’s population and helped Obama win the state in 2008.

Know Your Care supporters and union workers also plan to rally Tuesday outside the GOP debate.
