SPARKS — Authorities have released the name of the 20-year-old who was killed in a rollover crash Thursday afternoon.

Ryan Hall of Sparks was ejected from the passenger seat when a black 1991 Toyota 4 Runner driven by a 16-year-old from Sparks overcorrected to the left and then to the right right after the vehicle veered off the roadway edge.

The crash occurred at 12:29 p.m. near the intersection of Calle de la Plata in Spanish Springs.

Hall was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. He was pronounced dead at the scene while the teenage driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was airlifted to Renown Regional Medical Center for injuries described as serious.

NHP is not releasing the name of the juvenile driver at this time because drug paraphernalia was found on him and marijuana and other paraphernalia was found inside the vehicle.

Witnesses to the accident or anyone with additional information is encouraged to call Trooper Eric Gallagher at 689-4661 regarding case number NHP-111012066.
