MODESTO, Calif. — On Saturday, Bobby McDowell, senior director of operations for Nevada Save Mart stores and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk chairman for Northern California, will present a $15,000 check in support of the Nevada Diabetes Association teen camp.
This is the third year that Save Mart CARES has supported the teen camp with a $15,000 donation. Save Mart CARES — Community, Arts, Recreation, Education, Sports — is a nonprofit organization that supports charitable groups and programs, especially those programs involved with youth and their activities.
The Nevada Diabetes Association is the only organization in the state to offer this program, which is solely supported by grants from foundations, corporations, individuals and special events. The camp serves more than 900 children each summer, providing them support, diabetes education and fun.
