WASHINGTON — Rep. Shelley Berkley on Friday announced that Nevada will receive more than $3.4 million in funding for expansion of the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.

“This grant will allow the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery to add more than 4,800 new plots so that we can accommodate all those veterans and their spouses who choose to be buried in this facility in coming years,” Berkley said.

The $3.4 million in grant funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs will be used to add more than 4,800 burial plots and for construction of an administration building, roads, a committal shelter, landscaping and other infrastructure to accompany a planned 17.3-acre expansion.
