LAS VEGAS (AP) — A search is on to replace an Elko County state court judge who died last month.
The Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection is taking applications until Sept. 30 to fill the Fourth Judicial District Court seat left open when Andrew Puccinelli died Aug. 8 in Reno after a battle with cancer.
Nevada lawyers with 10 years of legal experience, including at least two in the state, are eligible.
Applications are available on the Nevada Supreme Court website and must be submitted in hard copy to the administrative office of the courts in Las Vegas.
The appointee will have to win a 2012 election to retain the seat.
