SPARKS — To better serve bicyclists, pedestrians, transit and motorists, the Regional Transportation Commission is studying the Fourth Street and Prater Way corridor from Keystone Avenue in Reno to Northern Nevada Medical Center east of Vista Boulevard in Sparks. RTC invites the public to a community workshop between 4 and 7 p.m. Thursday at Robert Mitchell Elementary School, 1216 Prater Way, at the corner of 12th Street.

RTC is collaborating with the cities of Reno and Sparks to integrate city economic development initiatives underway into the agency’s plans. RTC is asking for public input on what the corridor could look like in the future, what the needs are and what issues could be addressed. The public meeting will feature stations that focus on the unique needs of different modes of travel and how they can be connected. RTC staff will answer questions one on one with guests and listen to suggestions and ideas.

Parking is available on 12th Street and at the church across from the school. Christina Leach is RTC’s project manager at 775-335-1916. For complete RTC information go to to sign up for free email updates using MyRTC or call 348-0400.
