TRUCKEE, Calif. — A Care Flight’s staff and helicopter will be present for the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Young Eagle’s monthly fly/drive-in pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon on Sept. 10 at the Truckee Airport.

Care Flight’s helicopter will be available for the public to view, and the crew on duty will answer questions about emergency medical helicopter service. Care Flight also will be offering its money-saving membership program at the special anniversary rate of $30 per year per household.

“Care Flight has been serving northern Nevada and northeastern California communities for 30 years,” said Kurt Althof, public relation manager for Care Flight, “yet we are still somewhat of a secret and not a business the public thinks about until we are needed.”

During the monthly fly in and pancake breakfast, EAA volunteer pilots provide the opportunity for young people ages 8 to 17 to enjoy a free flight. Participation is easy: Parents just need to sign a permission slip and that is all there is to it.

The Truckee Tahoe Airport is located at 10356 Airport Road in Truckee.
