HENDERSON (AP) — A newspaper carrier on an early morning route is credited with alerting Henderson firefighters to smoke and flames in the garage of a home in a Green Valley neighborhood.

Everyone in the house escaped unhurt, but one Henderson firefighter was injured battling the 5 a.m. Friday fire at a home near Valley Verde Drive and Silver Springs Parkway.

The firefighter was later able to return to work.

A cause of the fire wasn’t immediately determined.

Firefighters brought it under control in about 15 minutes.

Damage was estimated at about $150,000.
