LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 23-year-old woman is jailed following the slaying of another woman during a predawn argument at an apartment complex in southeast Las Vegas.
Records show Stephanie Kirby was being held Friday on a murder charge at the Clark County jail pending a court appearance Tuesday.
Las Vegas police Lt. Lewis Roberts says Kirby was arrested Thursday after she called police about 3:30 a.m. from her home and directed officers to the slain woman’s apartment on Harmon Avenue east of Boulder Highway.
The name of the dead woman wasn’t immediately made public. Roberts says she was in her 20s.
Roberts says alcohol may have been a factor in an argument between the two women before the victim was beaten and stabbed to death.
