Reward offered in shooting of Sparks teen

SPARKS — Secret Witness is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects wanted in connection with the shooting death of a young man in the area of the Lansdowne Apartments, located at 1215 Sullivan Lane.

At 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Sparks Police responded to the above area on reports of multiple gun shots being fired. Upon arrival, they found 16-year-old Abel Meza-Campos inside an apartment suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and extremities. Meza-Campos was transported to Renown Medical Center where he died.

Two suspects are being sought are described as Hispanic males, 15 to 18 years old, between 5-feet 5-inches and 5-feet 8-inches tall, weighing 125 to 140 pounds and last seen wearing all dark clothing and baseball caps. They were last seen running east through the apartment complex parking lot toward Sullivan Lane.

The shooting appears to be gang related and the investigation is ongoing.
