RENO — The Reno Sparks Chamber’s Political Action Committee has announced its support and endorsement of Mark Amodei for the Nevada Congressional District 2 special election on Sept. 13.  The Chamber urges all its members and the community to support Mr. Amodei for a much-needed strong business voice in Congress.

In our interview with Amodei, he committed to simply telling the people of Nevada the truth. The truth about our unsustainable spending policies in Washington. The truth about the necessity to cut federal spending significantly before we talk about burdening job providers with additional taxes. And the truth about the 14 years of legislative experience that he has in voting on tax and budget issues.

The Chamber’s Political Action Committee, composed of six board members and three general members, personally interviewed Mark Amodei and Kate Marshall on Aug. 8. They sat down with each for about an hour and had productive conversations with both. We do want to acknowledge that Kate Marshall gave an excellent interview and we believe that she would be a very thoughtful and hard-working member of Congress. However, given the current environment in Washington and the policies coming out of Capitol Hill, the Chamber believes that we need a true private sector-centered leader with strong Nevada roots and legislative experience.
