RENO — The University of Nevada School of Medicine’s free Student Outreach Clinic dates for August have been revised with two additional dates added:

• Aug. 20 — A children’s back-to-school immunization clinic and a general clinic will both be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Aug. 27 — Children’s clinic for general pediatric care will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Aug. 30 — Women’s clinic for female-specific medical care will be held from 6 to 9 p.m.

Student Outreach Clinics are a free service providing much needed care for Washoe County’s medically uninsured population. Clinics offer physicals for work or school, EKGs, blood pressure monitoring, referrals and selected lab services at discounted fees.

Students from the university offer the clinics under the direct supervision of licensed faculty and community physicians. No appointment is necessary for clinic patients who are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Early arrival is strongly recommended. Spanish translators are available as needed.

Clinics are held at University Health System’s Family Medicine Center, located on the University of Nevada, Reno, campus just north of Mackay Stadium off North Virginia Street. Take RTC bus route 7 to North Virginia Street or the free Sierra Spirit bus.
