The two parcels include a 2.51-acre parcel in a residential area on South Edmonds and a 7.5-acre parcel, called parcel 1A, in a commercial area near the junction of U.S. Highway 50 and U.S. Highway 395. If the sales are held, interested bidders must submit written, sealed bids equal to or greater than the appraised fair market value of the lands. The appraised fair market value of the South Edmonds parcel is $180,000. The appraised fair market value of parcel 1A is $50,000.
In accordance with federal law, 5 percent of the proceeds from the sales will be paid directly to the state for use in the general education program. The remainder will be available to be used to prepare land sales, to transfer lands to be held in trust and to acquire environmentally sensitive land in Carson City.
More detailed information regarding the proposed sales including maps and current appraisals can be reviewed during normal business hours at the BLM Sierra Front Field Office.
A sale date and the deadline for submission of sealed bids will be announced on the BLM Carson City District website, www.blm.gov/nv/st/en/fo/carson_city_field.html, at least 30 days prior to the sale date.
