Police search for bank robber

RENO — At about 11:15 a.m. on Aug. 4, a suspect entered the U.S Bank at 13949 S. Virginia St. in Reno armed with a pistol and wearing a painter’s/dust mask. The suspect approached the bank tellers and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the bank and at this time is still outstanding. Detectives and FBI agents are reviewing video from many surrounding businesses in the area.

The suspect is described as a white male adult in his mid-20s to early 30s, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, slim build, short, sandy blond hair, wearing a long sleeve white-collared shirt, blue jeans, sunglasses and a baseball cap.

Anyone with information on this crime or the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Federal Bureau of Investigation at 328-4000, the Reno Police Department Robbery/Homicide Unit at 334-2188 or remain anonymous by calling Secret Witness at 322-4900.
