RENO — On Thursday at 9:50 p.m., the Reno Police Department responded to the area of Rock and McCarran boulevards on a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a car.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries he sustained.
The vehicle and driver left the scene of the accident. Detectives of the Reno Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team would like to speak with the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian to obtain his statement.
The vehicle is described as a dark colored mini-van driven by a male. The vehicle should have distinctly visible damage to the front and possibly a broken windshield. The vehicle was last seen traveling away from the scene southbound on McCarran Boulevard.
The Reno Police Department Traffic Division asks the public for any assistance they can provide in identifying the vehicle involved or providing details related to this incident.
