GARDNERVILLE — The victim of Wednesday’s fatal crash on U.S. 395 has been identified by the Washoe County Coroner’s Office.
Terry Lyn Elmer, a 46-year-old resident of Gardnerville, was killed at about 11:15 a.m. when the commercial vehicle he was driving northbound crossed the center line and struck a silver Ford truck traveling in the opposite direction. The trailer being hauled by the Ford broke loose and swung around and hit another white Ford truck traveling in the same direction. Elmer was pronounced dead at the scene. The male occupant of the silver Ford truck and trailer was transported from the scene, and flown to Renown Regional Medical Center by Care Flight with moderate injuries. The female occupant sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The male and female occupants of the white Ford truck were treated at the scene for minor injuries. Once the next of kin has been notified we will be releasing the name of the male driver.
