RENO — Five Aces hitters recorded two hits Wednesday night, but Reno could muster just one hit with runners in scoring position in a 7-3 loss to Las Vegas at Aces Ballpark.

The Aces led 3-1 entering the sixth inning, but Las Vegas pushed across six runs over the next three frames to steal the win in the second game of the series. Reno left 13 men on base in the game, while going just 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

The 51s' victory ties the season series—and the 2011 Silver State Diamond Challenge—at seven games apiece with just two games remaining. The final two games between Nevada's two Triple-A franchises will be played Thursday and Friday night at Aces Ballpark.

Gaby Hernandez (4-3) allowed just one run over his first five innings, but faltered in the sixth, allowing three runs in the frame. He finished the night surrendering four runs—all earned—in 5.1 innings pitched, striking out two and walking two.

Las Vegas starter Chad Beck (1-0) earned the win in his first Triple-A appearance, holding Reno's offense to just three runs—two earned—in five innings, scattering eight hits and striking out two.

Cole Gillespie, Tony Abreu and Robby Hammock had two singles apiece for Reno, while Juan Miranda's fifth-inning double was the Aces' lone extra-base hit of the evening. Michael Restovich drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in his Aces debut.

Reno and Las Vegas square off again Thursday night. Aces LHP Wade Miley (3-0, 3.42 ERA) is set to face Las Vegas LHP Brad Mills (2-2, 4.61 ERA). First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. PT, and is a Coors Light Thirsty Thursday™ presented by Lotus Radio and Reno News & Review, with $2 Coors and Coors Lights until the fifth inning.

Aces playoff tickets will go on-sale August 8, while tickets for regular season home games are available today at, the Aces Ballpark box office or by phone at (775) 334-7000. Discounted group tickets for your next event are also available.
