SPARKS — Take advantage of the invigorating yoga classes available through the Sparks Parks and Recreation Department this summer. The six-week sessions, taught by instructors from Yoga Loka studio, are held at the Larry D. Johnson Community Center at 1200 12th St.
Yoga Basics will be held 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. on Tuesdays, Aug. 9, through Sept. 13. The introductory course covers the principles, philosophy, movements, breathing and relaxation techniques of yoga.
Mindful Flow Yoga takes place from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays, Aug. 13 through Sept. 17. Flowing sequences of poses and detailed instruction on individual postures are included, along with breath work and meditation. Beginners are welcome.
A yoga mat, block and strap are required. The cost per session is $97 or $81 for residents of Sparks. For more information, call 353-7857 or email email@example.com.
