RENO — The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team has made an arrest in a vehicle versus motorcycle traffic accident, which was initially reported to the Reno Police Department at about 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
Reno police responded to the scene and located an injured male who had been riding a motorcycle. Officers also located another male subject with the injured person and a Dodge sedan with left front damage. The driver of the sedan fled on foot from the scene.
It was determined that the collision occurred on a westbound traffic lane of North McCarran Boulevard. REMSA paramedics arrived and transported the injured 34-year-old male Reno resident to a local hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries to his feet and pelvis area. The investigation revealed that the motorcycle rider was rear-ended by the Dodge sedan. The sedan was traveling well over the posted 50 mph speed limit and alcohol was a contributing factor to the incident.
The suspected driver of the Dodge sedan was identified as Ehimare Ogbebor and he was later was arrested and transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility, where he was charged with felony driving under the influence causing substantial bodily harm, among others.
