RENO — At last month’s Learning Express Convention, local store owner Suzanne Peterson received the Helping Hand Award, which recognized her for going out of her way to help someone in need.

Peterson and her husband, Wade, opened their first Learning Express toy store in Reno in 2007 and their second location in west Reno in 2010. She has made noteworthy contributions to the franchise ever since. The award was presented by Linda Peebles, vice president of training at Learning Express.

“This year’s winner is a virtual wellspring of information,” Peebles said. “She thoroughly researches important topics, documents her successful programs and events, and never hesitates to share her experiences with her fellow Learning Express store owners. She was instrumental in helping the home office create a complete guide to the Birthday Box marketing program, never passes up the opportunity to offer assistance to those in need and consistently raises awareness about important issues. For her persistence, her empathy, and her dedication to the Learning Express family, we congratulate the 2011 Helping Hand Award winner, Suzanne Peterson.”

The Learning Express Annual Convention was held June 26 – 29 at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. Learning Express corporate staff, store owners and more than 100 of the world’s top toy vendors gathered to make decisions that will shape the 2011 holiday shopping season.
