Granite Construction hires a new engineer

SPARKS — Granite Construction Company announced Wednesday the addition of Paul Shogren as project engineer for the company’s Sparks location.

In this position, Shogren will be responsible for managing construction projects for Granite, including maintaining project documentation, shop drawings reviews, submittals, RFIs and monitor project schedules. He will also be responsible for estimating and assisting project management with coordination, cost control, verification of trade and subcontractors invoices.

Prior to joining Granite Construction, Shogren worked as project manager for Am-X Construction & Excavation Inc., and Sierra Nevada Construction and project engineer for Barnard Construction. He brings more than 12 years of experience in construction to his new role.

Shogren earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Montana Tech University. He also has an E.I.T. certification.
