RENO — The Wilbur D. May Museum will be closed through July 12 in order to pack up the “Dragons and Dinos” exhibit.
The museum will reopen on July 13. Summer hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
The museum will display an exhibit by the Sierra Watercolor Society from July 21 through Aug. 24. Titled “The Power of Plants,” the exhibit features painting of florals, plants, still lifes, garden scenes and landscapes by area artists.
In addition, the museum’s Discovery Room volunteers are opening Rancho San Rafael Regional Park’s Discovery Room from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays through the end of August. Volunteers plan to pick different themes each week to provide children with hands-on fun, games and a little learning. Activities include “Crafts on the Porch” every Wednesday, and a story time at 11 a.m. on Fridays. Visits to the Discovery Room are free.
The Wilbur D. May Museum is located within Rancho San Rafael Regional Park in Reno.
