Man arrested for involuntary manslaughter

SPARKS — On Thursday morning, Sparks Police located a subject that was being sought for questioning in relation to a homicide. Reno Police Department detectives were contacted and the subject, Larry Luckett, 34, agreed to meet with investigators. 

Upon completion of the interview, Luckett was arrested for one count of involuntary manslaughter in relation to an incident that occurred on May 19.

 On May 19, at about 11:30 p.m., RPD officers were called to the scene of a robbery that resulted in the death of the victim at the Ponderosa Lodge at 1400 E. Fourth St.. Upon arrival, officers located a victim in the parking lot and called REMSA. Life saving efforts were attempted but could not save the victim. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

 The investigation reveals that the victim and suspect were engaged in a conversation that turned into a physical confrontation leaving the victim deceased. The investigation is continuing, so anyone with information is urged to call the Reno Police Department. 

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending the proper notification of next of kin.
