Body identified as missing Incline Village resident

RENO — The Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office has completed a formal identification and notified the next of kin regarding the body of a white female adult found on June 20 near Marlette Lake.

The body has been confirmed as being the missing Incline Village resident Kelly McGinnis. She was last seen June 18 leaving her residence in the 900 block of Galaxy Way in Incline Village, according to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.

McGinnis’ vehicle was located in a parking lot just west of the Thunderbird Lodge on State Route 28 near Sand Harbor.

This is an ongoing investigation and no foul play is suspected.

Sheriff’s Office Detectives are currently assigned to this death investigation and encourage anyone who might have seen or heard anything suspicious near Marlette Lake to contact them at 328-3320 or remain anonymous by calling Secret Witness at 322-4900.
