SPARKS – On Friday at about 10:30 p.m., Sparks police officers responded to the 2300 block of G St. on a report of a stabbing that had just occurred. When officers arrived on scene, they met with the victim, a 21-year-old male Sparks resident. The victim told officers that he was walking towards a nearby convenience store when he and a friend were approached by two Hispanic males. The Hispanic males confronted the victim regarding possible gang affiliation. When the victim denied any gang affiliation, he was “jumped” and one of the suspects produced a knife and stabbed him.
The first suspect is described as 17 to 18 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build and wearing a black t-shirt and shorts. The second suspect is described as 17 to 18 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build and wearing a white t-shirt and denim shorts. Both suspects were described as having black hair. Neither suspect is known to the victim.
The victim suffered multiple puncture wounds that were not life threatening. He was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center for further medical attention.
The Regional Gang Unit is investigating the stabbing and possible gang affiliation.
