The gift from the Maxine S. Jacobs Foundation will supply additional resources to ensure the program’s continued success in providing northern Nevada with qualified health care professionals as well as scholarships for nursing students.
“We are grateful for the support the Maxine S. Jacobs Foundation is providing the nursing program here at TMCC,” said Ted Plaggemeyer, TMCC’s dean of the School of Sciences. “Funding is critical to the success of this and many of the programs at TMCC and allows us to create a well-educated future workforce.”
TMCC’s nationally recognized nursing program is a leader in workforce development and is vital to northern Nevada. With more than 88 percent of its graduates hired by local hospitals, the nursing program relies on community support to help provide students with the qualified instructors and new technologies they need to become successful health care professionals.
TMCC will hold an official naming ceremony on the college’s Dandini Campus later this year.
