CARSON CITY — Robert B. Lincoln, a sportsman from Carson City, has won a $1,000 gift certificate for applying early for a 2011 big game tag from the state.

Lincoln was also a successful big game tag applicant this year, drawing a mule deer. The Nevada Board of Wildlife Commission during its August and December 2010 meetings asked the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) to examine incentive options that might encourage applicants to submit applications earlier during the application process, thus avoiding the rush of applications normally experienced near the close of the deadline.
