RENO — The annual fundraiser for Special Olympics Nevada labeled “Cops & Burgers” is taking place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 5 at the Grand Sierra Resort parking lot.

Several law enforcement personnel from a number of agencies, including the Nevada Highway Patrol, will volunteer their time grilling hamburgers and serve each with a bag of chips and a soda for only $5. This marks the fourth year of this event and the second year in a row in which the event has included a classic car show-n-shine. Any vehicle that was made in 1979 or earlier can register on the day of the event and each entry costs only $20, which will include a free goodie bag, a dash plaque and one free lunch ticket at the event. There will also be a static display of law enforcement vehicles and specialized units for the community to see.
