Robbery results in homicide

RENO — On May 19 at 11:36 p.m., Reno Police Department officers were called to the scene of a robbery that may have resulted in the death of the victim at 1400 E. Fourth St., Ponderosa Lodge, in Reno. Upon officers arrival, officers located the victim in the parking lot and called REMSA. Life saving efforts were attempted but paramedics could not save the victim. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The investigation reveals that the victim and suspect were engaged in a conversation that turned into a physical confrontation leaving the victim deceased. The suspect is described as a black male adult, last seen wearing a black coat. The investigation is continuing, so anyone with information is urged to call the Reno Police Department Robbery/Homicide unit at 334-2188.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending the proper notification of next of kin.
