RENO — On May 19 at about 7:40 a.m., officers responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident at the intersection of Sixth and Lake Streets. The pedestrian received major injuries and is currently hospitalized in the Renown Intensive Care Unit.

The vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene and the driver has not come forward to report his involvement. The Reno Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) requests assistance from the public with locating this vehicle. The vehicle is described as a silver or light colored van with Nevada license plates. The driver is described as a white or Hispanic male with a white beard. There was also possibly a handicap placard hanging from the mirror.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Chris Waddle at 657-4759 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
