Man robbed in parking lot

SPARKS — A man was robbed Sunday night as he left a local pharmacy.

At about 9 p.m., Sparks Police officers responded to the 600 block of North McCarran Boulevard on the report of a robbery that had just occurred. The victim, a Sparks resident, had gone to the CVS pharmacy located at 680 N. McCarran Blvd. and made a purchase. As he was leaving the store, he saw a subject crouched down some distance away. The victim continued walking and the suspect approached, produced a handgun and demanded money. The suspect then fled eastbound from the area, possibly headed toward the Marina Garden Apartments, located in the 500 block of Howard Drive.

The suspect is described as a black male about 20 to 25 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a bandanna and sunglasses.

Secret Witness is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect in this crime. Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to contact Sparks Police Detectives at 353-2225 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
