SPARKS — An elderly woman was struck over the head by a robber who had broken into her house early Tuesday morning.

At about 2 a.m., the Sparks Police Department received a 911 call regarding a home invasion in the 800 block of Cortez Way. When officers arrived they found the subjects had made entry by kicking the garage door and had rummaged through the house. The elderly female victim had been struck in the head with a handgun by one of the suspects. They demanded her jewelry and took several other valuables from the residence.

The victim could not identify the suspects. It is also unknown how the suspects arrived at that residence. The victim was able to provide a limited description of the four suspects. All four were described as being male and were wearing dark clothing and bandannas covering their mouths concealing their identity.

The Sparks Police Department is asking anyone who might have any information regarding this incident to contact the Sparks Police Department at 353-2225 or Secret Witness at 322-4900 or online at
